An animatronic dinosaur 8 feet tall and 15 feet long wowed an audience of hundreds Tuesday at MEGA Gymnastics at the Arboretum of South Barrington shopping center.
The event was a preview of “Walking with Dinosaurs,” a traveling stage show that features life-size replicas of the prehistoric reptiles that is coming to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont later this month for eight performances.
The show, which originated in Australia, has generated $136 million in American ticket sales since 2007. A team of 50 engineers, artists, animatronic experts and others constructed the giant replica dinosaurs. It takes a convoy of 22 trucks to transport the show.
The show runs from Wednesday, July 28, through Saturday, July 31. Tickets are $19.50 to $69.50. For more information on the show, go to dinosaurlive.com.
